Regional Webinar for National Statistical Services of the CIS Countries “Measuring Migration in the 2020 Round of National Censuses”

A regional webinar was held on November 30, 2023, as part of the regional UNFPA programme CISPop “Better Data for Better Policies”. The aim of the webinar was to discuss the role of population censuses in collecting data on migration and ethno-cultural characteristics of the population, as well as to assess the current state of the information base for migration research and migration policy development.

The webinar included nine reports from the national statistical services of the CIS countries and the CIS Statistical Committee on the experience with preparing and conducting the 2020 round of population censuses and the data on migration obtained in these surveys. During the discussions, the participants asked questions and received comprehensive answers from representatives of statistical services of the CIS countries.
