Strengthening the system of state statistics

As part of the development of the state statistical system, Centrostat operates in three main areas:

  • pilot testing (piloting) statistical forms;
  • developing methodological approaches;
  • business consulting.

Pilot testing of statistical forms is essentially a complete - from start to finish - statistical observation project but on a limited scale; this includes data processing and analysis of results (outputs). Centrostat was commissioned by the expert community to test the following statistical forms:

  • 2023 Specialized survey of organizations in the areas of development, implementation and use of artificial intelligence technologies

  • 2016 Trial one-time survey of small and micro enterprises in the scientific and technical sphere

  • 2015 Testing a form of statistical observation of the activities of organizations in the engineering services and industrial design sector

Information and Publishing Center "Statistics of Russia", in cooperation with specialists from Rosstat, has started implementing a project to create the "Moscow Agglomeration" web portal by order of the Moscow Government. In 2022, the project implementation included the following:

  • a system of statistical indicators for posting on the web portal was developed and agreed upon with the Moscow Government;
  • statistical information on more than 300 indicators comparable over time and covering the period from 2010 was prepared and uploaded;
  • each indicator is provided with the respective metadata;
  • the software that was developed for the web portal allows users to analyze the socio-economic development of the Moscow agglomeration;
  • information can be viewed in tabular and graphical formats at a user's request;
  • the web portal was launched in Russian and English languages.
